Mordi Aquatic Centre - ‘Confluence’ (Late 2026)

Steel, Ceramic, Marine Grade Aluminium
7.68m x 6.32m x 1m

This body of work explores the dynamic interplay between movement, breath, and the elemental presence of water, setting up a dialogue between the human body and its environment. Drawing on the shifting morphology of the ribcage as it expands and contracts, and on the fluid trajectories traced by the body in motion, the sculptures establish conceptual parallels with the site’s intrinsic connection to water, its continuous movement, adaptability, and capacity for renewal.

Across Mordi Aquatic Centre, three distinct sculptural responses translate these shared qualities of fluid movement and organic transformation into spatial encounters. Positioned to activate different zones within the site, they cultivate conditions for contemplation and embodied engagement, inviting visitors to attune to the subtle correspondences between their internal physiological rhythms and the flowing presence of water. Together, the works propose an experience that is at once personal and communal, grounded in the universal rhythms of breath, motion, and water that underlie and sustain life.
