The (un) expected

Bone china

42cm (diameter)

Life and loss. An exploration into the unspoken despair in fertility, loss and grief.

Social expectation, stereotypes and social norms. Living the (un)expected. The balance of private and public spheres.

Bone china is a purposeful choice of material. An exploration of technique and control. Bone china moves unsupported. Forms are drawn in liquid clay slip, each formed in unison yet unique and unsupported of moulds. Forms are precariously joined to create a symbolic cyclical reference. Part supported, each form must bond to the next to allow the cycle to exist.
